"London, 1983" 10x10 Original Mixed Media on Canvas

This original mixed media, expressive pop art piece is a one-of-a-kind collectible for punk and counter-culture lovers or unique, bright art lovers alike. “London, 1983” was so fun to create. I first laid down a layer of black acrylic paint covered with a layer gesso. Then, I used an acrylic wash to allow the lines beneath to take shape intuitively. A face emerged, and I couldn’t resist giving it a neon mohawk and more. I used acrylic paint, water-based marker pens, and a real safety pin to fill in fine details, finished in Feb. 2024.
